Hidden in the savanna’s of the West Nile area of northern Uganda, the community of Kwio Akuru is 11 hours by car from the national airport in Entebbe. Prior to my first visit in July of 2022, they had never been visited by Muzungus (caucasians). It presented the perfect opportunity to share the Gospel among the Alur people in the region.

The Honorable Dr. Betty Udongo took us to her ancestral village of Kwio Akuru, where we worshipped with the local community.During our 3 hours there, our missionary team witnessed healings in Jesus’ name. Two deaf people got their hearing restored. Three people with malaria reported their fever broke after prayer alone. Two people were delivered in Jesus’ name from demonic oppression. There is still power in the name of Jesus.As a physician, to see such healings in person was astounding and encouraging. Only to God be the Glory!

Six weeks after my first trip to Uganda I could not get Kwio Akuru out of my mind.I called Dr. Betty and asked what the community needed. Covid lockdown had shut the Parents’ Community School for 2 years. No one was able or willing to reopen it.On September 9th of 2022 we opened a new school that I named “Precious Beloved Children Christian School.” Here is Auntie Betty with our first students on opening day.

Dr. Betty is Co-founder and Ministry Advisor to the PBC. Here she is on opening day with joy filled pupils holding up their first book ever to own and keep. Their faces say it all.

In December of 2022 we held a medical camp in Kwio Akuru with 6 medical students and their Dean, Dr. Gerald Tumusiime, from Uganda Christian University in Kampala.Over 500 people were treated in 3 days and Dr. Gerald performed 3 surgeries.

Dr. George Pifoch played a vital role during the medical camp in December of 2022. He has come back to Kwio Akuru twice a year to provide free medical care to the students at PBC Christian School. I have partnered with him and his wife to build the “Gift of God School of Nursing and Midwifery,” a Christ centered nursing school on our 3.2 acres in Nebbi, to reduce the rates of maternal and infant mortality in a tri-state area where access to healthcare is severely lacking.

Our students are highly motivated to learn. Now that they have hope for a better future, several have dreams of becoming professionals after high school. Through Christian education and discipleship we can impact their lives, families, communities, and a country…one person at a time. Your support makes this possible.

In March of 2024 we drilled a 270 foot deep well. Women no longer have to walk 6 miles to the Nile River and back, carrying 5 gallons of water on their heads. People are also no longer dying from water borne diseases and hippo attacks at the river. One teacher tragically lost 2 of his sons at the Nile a few years back due to hippos.

Our solar powered well provides tasty clean water at an affordable price to the school and community.

Bio for Brian Mungu Jakisa Brian Mungu Jakisa is a remarkable, energetic, and talented young man who joined PBC in July of 2024. His creativity has resulted in the PBC brochure, business cards, and ministry cards used for fundraising purposes. As the General Manager for the ministry, Brian has helped PBC grow in two years from a staff of 7 to 35 in different departments. I am immensely grateful for his many positive contributions towards the ministry.

(12) Here is our remarkable young evangelist, Marvin Ssentaba. He has made an amazing impact during his school holidays, by traveling 16 hours by bus from across the country to evangelize and disciple the student body at PBC. As a senior in high school, Marvin disciples 30+ students several times a week. In his free time Marvin goes door knocking to share Christ in different communities, and preaches on WhatsApp twice a week to an audience of over 200. He is responsible for the revival taking place at PBC. Sixty eight students and several teachers at PBC have continued his evangelistic efforts, leading over 150 people from 7 different communities to Christ in several months. Marvin will graduate from high school in December 2026. He is concurrently studying on line at Baptist Bible College, based in Missouri. In December he will serve as the PBC Chaplain and as our Senior Pastor for True Life Bible Church East Africa

Dr. George’s wife, a nurse midwife, is educating the older girls about female hygiene and health issues in our steel framed classrooms at PBC.
